Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD (Deep Red) Review

Bought this as an supplement to Canon SLR, for portability reasons. Size is a real plus for this. Photo quality is good.
I would recommend reading and viewing photos in the reviews made by specialists on the web, it’s all there.

I am very disappointed with the way Amazon offers a bonus SD card for this purchase (and others too). On the product page it says you get a bonus 4gb card, but you really don’t get this unless you add the card to the basket. I realized this after the order was shipped (some of you are laughing right now). It’s a dirty sales trick from Amazon, but what’s not dirty when it comes to sales? Next time I’ll know this, but who knows what else they’ll come up with.

Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD (Deep Red) Overview

It may be the slimmest Digital ELPH Canon has ever created, but the impact couldn’t be bigger. The PowerShot SD780 IS Digital ELPH captivates the senses with bold saturated colors and a daringly original design that matches the intensity of Canon’s most innovative camera technology. Even when picture-taking conditions seem pretty unforgiving, you’ve got Canon on your side. So the shots you used to miss are the images you’ll now be sharing, and the movies you never took before will be HD unforgettable.

Not impressed – TheRobert – Portland, Oregon
I don’t think it’s necessarily a “bad” camera, but it didn’t seem to take very good pictures, and the settings were kind of a pain to figure out. The pictures seemed kind of washed out looking. I returned it and luckily found a used Casio Exilim like the one I had stolen from me, and am much happier with both the ease of operation and the pictures.

Very Pleased – S. Debenport -
Very pleased with this camera. I just wished the battery lasted longer. A spare battery is a good idea for heavy users.
